Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL)

Welcome to Junior FIRST® LEGO® League

The Jr.FLL theme this year is Super Seniors – so the kids are learning about the last stage of growth: being a senior! From the second you are born to this very minute, you are getting older. At first, this means growing bigger, learning to walk and talk, and discovering your connection to the people and the world around you. You grow from baby to toddler to child to teenager to adult to senior. What Fun!

There will be a Jr.FLL Expo in Sparks, NV and Las Vegas, NV for teams to come together and share their Super Seniors Projects.

The Northern Nevada Jr.FLL Expo will be held on Saturday, Dec 8, 2012 at Sparks High School in Sparks, NV. The Southern Nevada Expo will be held on Saturday, Dec 1, 2012 at Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, NV.

Junior FIRST® LEGO® League The newest program in FIRST introduces the youngest students to the exciting worlds of science and technology. Just like FLL, this program features a real-world challenge, to be solved by research, critical thinking and imagination. Guided by adult coaches, students work with LEGO elements and moving parts to create solutions and present them for review. Younger elementary school students get to:
  • Design and build challenge solutions using LEGO elements
  • Apply real-world math and science concept
  • Research challenges facing today’s scientists
  • Learn team-building and presentation skills
  • Develop Show-Me posters

Click here to find out more about the Junior FIRST LEGO League. Jr. FLL is a program that can be incorporated in the classroom and blended into core curriculum. Watch the students grow and develop their team skills and let their imaginations leap to innovative solutions and models.

More Jr. FLL Locally Jr. FLL enjoys a longer season and registration is open through April. Why not incorporate more K-3rd events throughout the school year. Interested in combining a Jr. FLL EXPO in your school science and invention fairs? Simply enter a local event on the www.usfirst.org webiste and contact us. We'd be happy to help guide you.

Volunteer for the Jr. FLL Expositions.  Click here. We are always looking for adult volunteers and young mentors that can help guide these K-3rd graders.  It's a great way to inspire, lead and recognize our future scientists and engineers.
